It’s futile for us to try to plead our own case. Remember the devil is “the father of lies”. In our own strength, we would lose that case, probably before it hit the court room! But… with Christ, we just say… “hey, talk to my attorney.”
He Himself is the propitiation for our sins. So not only is Jesus our defense attorney, when the judgement for our sin comes down, He stepped in and said “I’ll take that punishment!” He took our place, it should have been us on that cross!
