Like Father Like Son

Who is the right Jesus?  There are so many different religions out there that seem to have a Jesus in their philosophy but is it the same Jesus?  Does it really matter?

Well, the answer is a definite YES! There are some very important details laid out in the Bible that describe who Jesus is.  There are some very distinct characteristics that set the true, Biblical Jesus apart from the other religions who have a “Jesus” in their beliefs.

If we get Jesus wrong, we get EVERYTHING ELSE WRONG! The trinity won’t have its fullness.  The perfect atonement for our sin ceases to be perfect. The miracles He did on earth could be done by anyone with power rather than God Himself.  If we get Jesus wrong, we get the Gospel wrong.  The good news that Jesus, God wrapped in human flesh (John 1:14), came down to live the perfect life (1 Peter 2:22), give us the perfect example (1 Timothy 1:16:), die the perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 10:12-14) so that we could receive the free gift of grace (Ephesians 2:8) that saves us from eternity in hell.  If we have that wrong, we have nothing.

The right Jesus means the right gospel. The right understanding of Christ is one of the highest most important things to get right in our faith.  If not the highest.

John Calvin – We ought always to consider what it is that the Gospel offers to us; for we need not wonder that he who receives Christ with all his merits is reconciled to God, and acquitted of the condemnation of death; and that he who has received the gift of the Holy Spirit is clothed with a heavenly righteousness, that he may walk in newness of life.

Join us in our two part study of John 5:19-30 where we look at Jesus, the RIGHT JESUS and His claims to equality with God.  His claims to being the Son of God. From the words of Jesus Himself, let’s look at who we must believe Jesus is in order to put our faith in the right Jesus.

God wants to give you eternal life! But you cannot receive His grace if you believe in the wrong Jesus.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Put your faith in the right Jesus Christ.  Receive His free gift of Grace.  Surrender your life to Him.
